“Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof.
Now a thing was secretly brought to me, And mine ear received a whisper thereof.
“Now a word was secretly brought to me, And my ear received a whisper of it.

A word was brought to me in secret; my ears caught a whisper of it.
But a word sneaked up on me; my ears caught a hint of it.
“For a word was stealthily brought to me, my ear caught only a whisper of it.
A secret was told to me in a faint whisper—
Now to me a word was secretly brought, and mine ear received a whisper thereof.
Now there was a word spoken to me in private, and my ears by stealth as it were received the veins of its whisper.
“I happened to hear a message. My ears caught a whisper of it.
One night I heard a quiet voice. Someone spoke to me and told me a secret.
A word was delivered to me secretly. My ears caught a whisper of it.
“Now a word was brought to me stealthily; my ear received the whisper of it.
“Now a word was brought to me stealthily; my ear received the whisper of it.
“A word ·was brought to me in secret [L stole over me], and my ears heard a whisper of it [C Eliphaz claims a supernatural revelation that supports his teaching].
But a thing was brought to me secretly, and mine ear hath received a little thereof.
“I was told something secretly and heard something whispered in my ear.
Once a message came quietly, so quietly I could hardly hear it.
A word was brought to me in secret; my ears caught a whisper of it.
“A word was brought to me in secret. My ears heard a whisper of it.
“A message was confided to me; my ear caught a whisper of it.
¶ Now the matter was also hidden from me, but my ear has perceived a little of it.
Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof.
Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof.
“Now a word was brought to me stealthily, And my ear received a whisper of it.
“And a word came stealing to me, and my ear received the whisper from it.
“This truth was given me in secret, as though whispered in my ear.
“A word came to me in secret— a mere whisper of a word, but I heard it clearly. It came in a scary dream one night, after I had fallen into a deep, deep sleep. Dread stared me in the face, and Terror. I was scared to death—I shook from head to foot. A spirit glided right in front of me— the hair on my head stood on end. I couldn’t tell what it was that appeared there— a blur . . . and then I heard a muffled voice:
“Now a word was brought to me secretly, and my ear received a whisper of it.
“I was told something secretly and heard something whispered in my ear.
A word was stealthily brought to me, my ear caught a whisper of it.
“Now a word was brought to me secretly, And my ear received a whisper of it.
“Now a word was brought to me stealthily, And my ear received a whisper of it.
“A word was quietly brought to me; a whisper of it reached my ears.
“A word was brought to me in secret, and my ears heard a whisper of it.
“Now a word was stealthily brought to me, and my ear caught a whisper of it.
“A message came to me in secret. It was as quiet as a whisper.
“A word was secretly brought to me, my ears caught a whisper of it.
‘A word was secretly brought to me, my ears caught a whisper of it.
“Now a word was secretly brought to me, And my ear received a whisper of it.
“Now a word was brought to me in secret. My ear heard it spoken in a quiet voice.
“This truth was given to me in secret, as though whispered in my ear.
‘Now a word came stealing to me, my ear received the whisper of it.
‘Now a word came stealing to me, my ear received the whisper of it.
“Now a word came stealing to me, my ear received the whisper of it.
“Now a word came stealing to me; my ear received the whisper of it.
Now a davar was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a whisper thereof.
“Now a word was brought to me stealthily, my ear received the whisper of it.
“Now a word was brought to me stealthily, my ear received the whisper of it.
Now a word was secretly brought to me, and my ear caught a whisper of it.
Now, listen: a secret word was delivered to me; my ears caught hold of a whisper.
“Now a thing was secretly brought to me. My ear received a whisper of it.
Certainly an hid word was said to me, and mine ear took as it were thief-like the veins of the privy speaking thereof. (Truly a hidden word was said to me, and my ear caught it like the stolen whispers of private speaking.)
And unto me a thing is secretly brought, And receive doth mine ear a little of it.
